I had a stuck valve a few weeks ago and spoke with my engine rebuilder. I had the head off and pushed the valve back where it belonged. The supplier said it was caused by the ethanol in the gas in a carb engine, and that a film is deposited on the valve stems. Suggested I add a quart of marvel mystery oil to the oil and some to the gas and spray all the valve stems since I had the head off with carb cleaner. I did what he said and have several hundred miles since and no problems Larry
