After looking at a lot of project cars in person, they rarely are worth the price as listed. OF course, it stands to reason that folks start high so that an offer can be reasonable. You haven't said how much you have in it (pricewise). I have seen finished Special Coupes for $25,000-$32,000 but that is a car that is ready to go and yours still has a reasonable amount of work to be done. Last summer I purchased a completely body off resto '30 Tudor for about $11,000. But it had issues... paint job is not that good and it was not a delux car. If it is as you say, your car is probably in that range with the rebuilt motor. Not that you couldn't get more, but the person buying it would need to understand the value of what you put in....i.e. it would need to be a person who has already done this kind of work. A newbie would probably want a driver. Start at $16K and get it advertised and talked up around other car clubs and model A folks within a couple hundred miles of your town. Just don't be surprised when someone offers you 6 or 8,000. Regards, Kenny |
