Dick, Other than peoples opinions on why Model A's have engine pans, I have never seen anything in the literature that verify their use. I do know that on at least two tours, cars that had engine pans required a stop at the hardware store, so if you do decide to use them carry extra pan bolts. My own car does not have them and I believe it runs cooler as a result. Leslie
