Hi, I have a first street electronic ignition in my pick up.
To time the car do as Bill L. says using timming pin find TDC. Then remove the dist cap but leaving the body in place. With the spark rod fully retarded, the right side of the rotor contact should be by the post in the dist body that fires #1 plug. If not, you will have to remove the rotor and loosen the cam screw to rotate the cam to acheive the above condition.
When you acheive this, you car wiil be timed so that the #1 plug will fire at TDC.
