I live in Southern California, so I am not worried about freezing. I prefer not to use antifreeze as somewhere down the road the car could boil over and I don't want that stuff all over the car. For many years I have been using plain water with a soluble oil additive. You can buy it at most parts stores. I think they call it rust inhibitor. What I actually use is soluble oil from a machine shop. There is an old fellow in our club who gets it by the gallon from some old buddy somewhere. He calls it "Mouse Milk". I add about 3 ounces to a pint of water and pour it in the radiator. I have a fairly new Brass Works radiator in my Vic that runs nice and cool. I still use plain water and soluble oil. Works for me. |
