Downshifting these old girls can be fun but what most seem to forget is that that lower gear is spinning faster then the higher gears that you are in. So you have to try to match that gear spin by dropping back to neutral let clutch out rev the engine and to try to match that lower gear spin to match engine to gear spin. Practice makes perfect. I had an old uncle that could drive thru the woods with his old AA never miss a gear or grind . Would only grin & head up the next hill.I watched and learned well and when I downshift at a corner or a hill today I see that grin every time. I feel he says you got it did'nt ya.
