Hi Sandy,
Good to hear you are driving it !

The 3 to 2 downshift rev should be enough to put the engine at around the same RPM as when it completes the shift. It is not a big dramatic rev, just a "Punch", and it will soon be smooth as glass.
I downshift for just about every turn, since I will expect to be accelerating out of it without lugging or chugging.
It soon becomes second nature.
I will listen to my engine during downshifts as I am taking it out right now, to see if I can suggest anything beyond the above.
